We believe the best conversations happen around the kitchen table. Something remarkable happens when we break bread among those we love and bear our burdens. This image shapes our mission at The Table. We are driven to develop authentic relationships with Jesus that have the power to change lives. Our values of compassion, authenticity and hospitality are evident throughout all of the ministries under The Table.
Below are some ways that we are practicing bringing Heaven to Earth.
1:17 is an immersive, yearlong residential discipleship pathway designed to help men in recovery to leverage their stories, locate their calling, and learn to live on mission. Named for Mark 1:17, where Jesus says “Come and follow me and I will make you fishers of men”, this program is highly focused on developing missional leaders with the competency to effectively make disciples.
The first six months of the program focuses on shaping, while the latter six months prioritizes sending. To be sent well, we must first be shaped well. The men are first developed through prayer practices, Bible reading, journaling, reading assignments, and serving in the ministry. As they progress through the program and enter the sending phase, tools are given to equip these men to reproduce their faith in others and start new groups.

If our ministry was a wheel, this gathering would be the hub at the center. We begin our time with a large meal provided by a rotation of groups joining us on mission. After eating, we have a time of acoustic worship followed by passionate biblical teaching. We believe pain shared is pain lessened. Out of this core conviction, we include “Table time”, a space for small group gathering questions from the evening teaching. A time of testimony and celebrating The Lord’s Supper concludes the gathering. At The Table, we want all to belong even if not all believe. We hope you feel like family and witness the tangible power of Christ’s love.
Sunday nights beginning at 5:30pm, Bristol Boys and Girls Club in Rice Terrace

Luke writes in Acts 2:42, “they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, breaking of bread, fellowship, and prayer”. Our ministry at the Salvation Army strives to include these four elements in an intimate environment. After supper, we supply dessert and facilitate a Discovery Bible Study for the residents.

We are passionate about caring for all of those on the margins, including the elderly. Many in nursing homes feel forsaken and forgotten. Our ministry in these spaces reminds residents of God’s plans to prosper and his assurance of hope to all people in all places, regardless of age or physical limitation.
